Journal: Reflections and Observations

                                                                                                            February 10, 2003
I knew I wanted to start early on my Senior Project, so I would not have tons of things to worry about doing my Senior year.  First I wanted to work on glass blowing but I had trouble finding a mentor.  Then I was thinking about doing something with interior design.  I had always been interested in interior design but did not know who I could get for my mentor.  I guess you could say that I had trouble finding a topic I would enjoy and a mentor I could work with.   These were some of the things I heard I should do from past Seniors.  I got a lot of helpful advise from past Seniors. After looking a while for a subject that would interest me and something I would not get bored with, I finally decided to work with Ellen Pagnano, my mentor, and my topic would be recreational sports.  Ellen works at Ocean State Adventures as the general manager.  She is somebody I look up too and I know I can count on her to be very helpful. I began this past summer by kayaking and rocking climbing with her.

After having difficulty choosing a topic, I now realize that this area of recreational sports will keep my interest throughout the Senior Project.  I hope this will help me to experience an introduction into the sports world.  This is important because I am looking at pursuing a career is the sports world.  I realize that I enjoy being outdoors and sharing my enthusiasm with other people.
