Professional Development
Professional development is at the heart of Richer Picture’s work with schools. Our work with your staff goes far beyond “technology training” – in fact, the bulk of work is spent on determining what makes a portfolio effective.
Our professional development is divided into workshops,
webinars,
and coaching.
Workshops, Webinars and Institutes
Richer Picture® Workshops are engaging activities to help your schools work on the “essential questions” of portfolios, assessment, and accountability. These workshops are typically offered as full-day events. They may be divided into two half-day or 3 or 4 after-school events. Any of these workshops can be offered either on-site or online.
Webinars are online professional development activities. In our chats, you will be able to get started with a number of key issues (such as how to calibrate a rubric or use portfolios for parent-teacher conferences). Most sessions run about one hour and are usually small enough for you to get personalized attention.
Portfolio Institutes are 2 to 3 day sessions that provide a fast track for implementing a portfolio. Institutes are designed for school teams of 5 to 8 participants.
During the institute, your team will look at the key areas of portfolio development: expectations, task development, assessment and logistics. By the end, your team will have a timeline and set of strategies for implementing the portfolio that fits for your school. For further information, please contact us at info@richerpicture.com.
